GENERAL FAQ
What is MIC?
MIC (Med Interview Coach) is an AI-powered medical school interview preparation platform built specifically for UK applicants. It provides realistic questioning, examiner-style feedback, ethical and NHS-based analysis, and full mock interview simulations (Gold tier only).
Who is MIC for?
MIC is designed for:
-
Year 12 students preparing early
-
Year 13 students with upcoming interviews
-
Applicants who want affordable, unlimited practice
-
Anyone who finds tutoring too expensive or inaccessible
Is MIC suitable for both MMI and panel interviews?
Yes. Silver users receive unlimited general interview practice. Gold users gain access to dedicated MMI Mode and Panel Mode that simulate real UK medical school interview formats.
PRICING & PAYMENT
How much does MIC cost?
MIC offers three tiers:
Bronze (Free)
Silver (£9.99/month)
Gold (£14.99/month)
Pricing is kept significantly lower than the cost of a single tutoring session. Exact features are shown on the Pricing Page - click the link here, or 'Pricing' at the top of the page, for more information.
Why isn't MIC free for unlimited use?
Each interaction requires computational resources. To keep the platform sustainable and high-quality, unlimited access cannot be provided for free. However, we intentionally keep premium pricing as low as possible — an entire month of MIC costs less than one hour of typical interview tutoring.
Do you offer discounts for Pupil Premium or low-income students?
Yes. We believe interview preparation should be accessible to everyone. Eligible students can request discounted (or hopefully soon free) rates. Documentation or evidence is required.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my tier?
Yes. You can move between tiers at any time. Upgrades apply instantly. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing cycle.
Can I get a refund?
MIC provides digital interview-preparation services that become accessible immediately upon purchase. Because access is granted instantly, all subscriptions are non-refundable once activated, except where required by UK consumer law (e.g., a duplicate payment or a genuine technical failure that prevents access).
You may cancel your subscription at any time, and your access will continue until the end of the current billing cycle.
Cancellations take effect immediately for the next renewal, and no partial refunds are issued for unused time.
BRONZE TIER FAQ
What do I get with Bronze?
Bronze users receive:
-
1 interview question per 24 hours
-
Structured feedback
-
Access to core interview topics
-
Basic learning support
Bronze is ideal for early-stage practice or trying out the platform.
Why is Bronze limited to one question a day?
To keep MIC fair and sustainable, unlimited free usage isn't feasible. Bronze provides meaningful free support while keeping the service affordable for everyone.
How do I unlock more practice?
Upgrade to Silver for unlimited questions, or Gold for full mock interview functionality and school-specific content.

FEATURES & FUNCTIONALITY
Will MIC ever have voice-based answering?
Yes — voice input/output is planned for a future update. It will allow you to speak your answers naturally, improving realism. Until then, typed responses allow MIC to assess structure, reasoning, and communication clarity effectively.
Will MIC include timed answers?
Yes. Timed responses and pacing analysis will be introduced in future updates to help mirror real MMI station timing.
Does MIC keep track of my progress?
MIC stores your responses within your session, allowing you to revisit feedback and learn from past answers. As the platform evolves, more analytics and progress-tracking features will be added.
Does MIC teach content too, or only assess?
MIC provides explanations, ethical frameworks, and NHS summaries. Gold users may also request rewritten sample answers. The system is built to teach and train performance, not just score answers.
Can MIC tell me exactly what my chosen medical school wants?
Yes — but Gold tier only. Gold users receive fully tailored advice based on the interview structure and assessment style used by their selected medical schools. Bronze and Silver receive general guidance only.
TROUBLESHOOTING & SUPPORT
MIC isn't responding — what should I do?
Refresh the page or log in again. If the issue persists, contact support through the website. Provide screenshots where possible to speed up assistance.
My AI stopped asking follow-up questions — why?
Follow-ups are only allowed:
-
in Silver or Gold
-
when explicitly requested
-
Bronze never allows follow-ups.
I asked MIC to rewrite my answer and it refused — why?
Rewriting is a Gold-only feature. Silver and Bronze users receive feedback and improvement guidance but no rewriting.
